Meet the Adorable New VW ID. Buzz

The brand new VW ID. Buzz is Volkswagen’s all-electric Microbus (passenger van) offering three-rows of seats with flexible seating for six or seven people and plenty of room to spare for cargo. While the European version has been out since 2022, the U.S. version is due out sometime in 2024.

The North American ID. Buzz electric passenger van is equipped with a 91 kWh battery and available in two configurations—a rear-mounted single-motor rear-wheel drive model with 282 horsepower, and a 330 horsepower dual-motor all-wheel drive model.

What’s the VW ID. Buzz Range?

The North American ID. Buzz passenger version has a 127.5-inch long wheelbase (10 inches longer than the European version) which allows for an extra rear seat and a larger battery. This gives the U.S. model 406 lb-ft of torque and an electronically-limited top speed of 99 mph (in the rear-wheel drive model).

The North American ID. Buzz all-electric range has yet to be revealed by Volkswagen, but the larger battery and more efficient motor hint that it will be a longer range than the 260-mile range of the European model. Owners can utilize a home charger, standard public chargers, or a public DC fast charge.

You’ll Love the VW ID. Buzz Interior Features

The available Panoramic Sunroof on the new ID. Buzz is the largest of all Volkswagen models and creates an incredibly light, airy interior feel. It incorporates an electrochromic tint that changes the glass from transparent to opaque depending on your mood.

Choose your new ID. Buzz with one of two seating configurations—a standard second row three-person bench seat (for a total of seven seats) or optional second-row captain’s chairs. Both second and third rows fold down, and an available removable cargo shelf extends the cargo surface area.

The ID. Buzz infotainment system gets an upgrade from the European model, with a standard 12.9-inch screen with a revamped operating system that’s easy to use and filled with customizable features.
